Dr. Spruit was trained at two of the leading Orthopedic Centers in Europe, St. Maartenskliniek, Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and the University of Leuven, Belgium. Working with world famous Orthopedic Surgeons, he has more than 10 years of experience in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders and adult hip pathology.
Dr. Spruit is the former Chief of Orthopedics in the St. Maartenskliniek leading a department of 17 Orthopedic Surgeons. The spine department is the Institute of Spine Surgery and Applied Research.
He has been the Principal Investigator of several clinical research trials and published numerous research papers in leading journals. In 2005 he completed and defended his thesis “Surgical treatment of degenerative disc conditions of the lumbar spine” at the Faculty of medical sciences, University Utrecht, the Netherlands. For the last fifteen years he has also presented many lectures on spine and hip pathology and he is a reviewer for the European Spine Journal.
Dr. Spruit's experience has enabled him to bring cutting edge care to lumbar disc pathology, low back pain, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis and spinal deformity. He has expert experience in primary and revision hip arthroplasty. |
