Caterina Obrador Riera, Podiatrist, was trained in the University of Barcelona, one of the leading podiatry universities in Europe, within a teaching hospital environment. After her podiatry degree, she pursued her studies with several postgraduate and master’s degrees relating to the foot and specializing in foot surgery. Caterina worked as a podiatrist and surgery assistant in the team led by the Director of Podiatry and the Head of Podiatric Surgery Studies at the University of Barcelona.

She has also been involved in several research works and has published several papers in international journals related to foot fungus isolates and testing of antimicrobial agents. She has also a wide background on postsurgical infections. Prior to joining the DBAJ, Caterina used to work as a podiatrist in a medical centre in Barcelona (Spain), where she coordinated the podiatric team. Her scope of work involved diagnosing, treating and preventing foot and ankle disorders as well as performing and assisting in surgeries.
