Dr. van Steijn worked as a senior staff member at the department of orthopedic surgery at the university hospital at Maastricht ( azM ) in the Netherlands from 1999 until know. Here he performed over 900 primary and revision total knee replacements together with more than 300 knee reconstructions for sports medicine. As part of his training he worked at the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis in Amsterdam where he completed his general surgery from 1994-1996. He completed his medical study at the university of Amsterdam and during his studies he did research at the university of Vermont, USA.
In 1998 he worked as fellow at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York with a focus on knee reconstructive surgery.
Dr. van Steijn also went to the Kingdom of Bhutan in 1996 under the Orthopedic Overseas, Division of Health Volunteers Overseas Development Program and to Klinik Gut in St. Moritz, Switserland both for trauma surgery.
He worked at Mafraq hospital and at Dubai hospital ( UAE ) as a visiting surgeon for knee reconstruction and sports medicine.
He was affiliated to the hemophiliac treatment center and the department of rheumatology at Maastricht university hospital.
He was lecturer at the medical curriculum at the university of Maastricht. |
