 Sports Medicine Specialist Joins Dubai Bone And Joint Center

Dr William D. Murrell, Jr., MDDubai Bone and Joint Center (DBAJ), the Middle East’s first and only center for musculoskeletal treatment and research have announced that as part of their endeavor to extend their service lines, top US Sports Medicine Specialist, Dr. William D. Murrell, Jr., MD has been appointed to join its elite team of doctors.

Dr William D. Murrell, Jr., MD joins DBAJ after a five year stint with American Musculoskeletal Wellness Institute, one of the finest centers for musculoskeletal services in the USA as Resident Orthopedic Surgeon and President.

Specializing in sports medicine and specifically in surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, ankle and arthroplasty of shoulder and elbow, Dr. Murrell’s skills and expertise will be a great value addition to DBAJ.

His prior experience includes working as Director of Sports Medicine at Columbus Regional Medical Center, Team Physician of Columbus Lions Professional Arena Football Team, Co-Director at Avera St. Luke’s Sports Medicine Center and Team Physician of Northern State University, Presentation College, Trinity Bible College, Aberdeen Central H.S. and Roncalli H.S.

Dr. Murrell also served the US Army as an orthopedic surgeon and as the Event Physician for the US Speedskating Team during the World Cup Qualifier in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The number of training facilities and sports camps have been flourishing in Dubai which could turn to Dr Murrell’s expertise for both prevention and treatment of bone and muscle related injuries.

Dr Murrell studied at the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; took up his internship and residency at Tulane University Health Science Center in New Orleans, Louisiana and had his fellowship at The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (TOSH) in Park City, Utah. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons with Subspecialty Certificate in Sports Medicine, Fellow American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, member American College of Sports Medicine.
